A Brief Look Back
In 2009, the event, themed “Your WOW Factor!” took place at the swanky W Atlanta – Midtown and was host to 177 bloggers from around the country. Sponsors included household brands such as Walt Disney World Parks, Huggies, General Motors, Lifetime Moms, and Mattel. Memorable Highlights: Louisiana-style luncheon to celebrate Disney’s The Princess and the Frog Wii game and ride and drives provided by Chevrolet.
In 2010, we hit the shores of Miami and enjoyed the luxury of the Ritz-Carlton – South Beach. The agenda grew to offer three tracks of programming: Lifestyle, Technical and Entrepreneurial, and the 300 bloggers in attendance interacted with dozens of name brands like Kenmore, General Mills, McDonalds, Kelloggs, Buick GMC, Sears/Kmart, and Wine Sisterhood. Memorable Highlight: Yoga session on the beach sponsored by BlogHer and a surprise appearance by CNN’s Soledad O’Brien.
In 2011, the nation’s capital became the backdrop for the conference as we called the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center home for 3 days and brought to life the theme of “Making Masterful Connections.” Johnson & Johnson, Cover Girl – Queen Collection, PineSol, Susan G. Komen, American Cancer Society and Aunt Jemima, among many others, wowed the 340 attendees with their brand offerings in meaningful settings. Memorable Highlights: Just Dance 3 Party hosted by Ubisoft and Scentalicious Luncheon hosted by Gain.
In 2012, we ventured westward to Las Vegas, NV and convened at the swanky and serene Red Rock Resort and Spa. For 3 days conference attendees were inspired to “Make It Personal”: by creating content that builds strong emotional connections among their audience. Miller Coors, Wells Fargo, Shop Your Way {by Sears/Kmart}, and ROSS, debuted at Blogalicious for the first time. Returning sponsors included McDonalds, Gain, and the American Cancer Society. Memorable Highlights: Shop Your Way Afternoon Tea and Gain Fresh Party featuring hip-hop artist, Doug E. Fresh.
In 2013, Blogalicious Weekend celebrated five years! The conference returned ‘home’ to Atlanta, GA at the Hyatt Regency Downtown for BlogaliciousFIVE! where attendees were encouraged to “Create. Build. Fund.” their passions. KIA Motors, McDonalds, OraQuick, ORS Haircare, 23 and Me, Colgate Optic White and more made lasting impressions on the sold-out event of 400 attendees. Memorable Highlights: Wells Fargo “Perfect Pitch” Contest, Comcast Xfinity Scandal Season Premiere Watch Party, Latina Track sponsored by Sprint and an opening keynote by EBONY Editor-In-Chief, Amy DuBois Barnett.
In 2014, we challenged our attendees to reach their full potential alongside the historic San Antonio Riverwalk. Through advanced sessions, hands-on workshops and strategic conversations, we equipped our community to #BeGreat in their blogs, brands and businesses. Our Title Sponsor, Toyota USA pulled out all the stops with a private meet and greet with actor Lamann Rucker and Q&A session with Claire Sulmers of Fashionbomb Daily. Top-level sponsors Fandango, Walt Disney World, Wells Fargo, Colgate Optic White, Change the Cycle, Cricket Wireless, and McDonald’s wowed attendees with phenomenal and engaging activations. In 2015, we poised our brand builders to Build Their Own Empires! Our first-ever VIP Mastermind Day brought together a roomful of 50 advanced-level influencers to collaborate with industry experts Aprille Franks-Hunt, Lamar Tyler, Jessica Clark, and Stacey Ferguson. Masterclasses were the highlight of the conference content with insider secret sessions with Marie Denee of The Curvy Fashionista, Regina A. of By Regina, Uneeka Jay of Uneeka Jay Speaks and Kevin Curry of Fit Men Cook. In 2016, we returned to Atlanta, GA – our “sweet spot” – to celebrate the idea that “Content Is Life!” We shook up the program a tad by adding evening #InspoLabs and a series of killer keynotes; we’re talking: Nely Galan, Ramon Ray, Luvvie Ajayi and Andrea and Robin McBride. Girlbosses Amber Anderson, Stacey Ferguson and Arsha Jones presented masterclasses during VIP Mastermind Day, which was sponsored by AARP. In 2017 we hit the fun and fab city of Miami, for the second time, to bring the theme #TribeUp to life. We kicked off the weekend with another impactful VIP Mastermind Day presented by AARP with trainings by Nicole Walters, Emilie Aries and Stacey Ferguson. The group also had the pleasure of having a candid discussion with actress Kim Coles surrounding the topic of #DisruptAging, a focus on AARP. Coca-Cola presented our Welcome Reception complete with a salsa band! The American Heart Association (AHA) woke us up with poolside yoga, which set us up for an amazing day of Keynote Conversations with Pamela Booker, Gwen Jimmere and Kathleen and Emily of Being Boss. New this year were Tribal Gatherings and sponsor-influencer experiences hosted by Wells Fargo, Change the Cycle and AHA. Our top-level sponsors Kia, Coca-Cola, Wells Fargo, Stop Stalling and Hanes did a bang-up job connecting with the attendees. And our group loved hearing from keynote Myleik Teele.
