Cecil the Lion Is Gone. By now, you may have heard about the vicious killing of beloved Cecil the Lion, one of Zimbabwe’s most prized possessions. Americans are outraged by the lion’s death, particularly because an American dentist Dr. Walter Palmer, is responsible for it. Palmer claims that the local guides who gave him access to the lion misguided him about Cecil the Lion being off limits. In a nutshell, Cecil was collared — a tactic used to exclude him from being hunted or harmed — and part of a special study. However, Palmer says he had no idea that his prey was so coveted. As with anything else that sets the Internet on fire, we’ve got to wait this one out and see what happens. In the meantime, get the full story from Mashable here.
