I met Hamilton in 2010 on the very last day of the very last event at Blogalicious 2011 in D.C. His then-client, Gain was the sponsor of our #Scentalicious Closing Lunch and he was there to enjoy the event. As busy and important as he was, he stayed over an hour after that event, talking to Team Blogalicious about our responsibility and trajectory in this space. He was genuine, invested and so, so smart. Hamilton and the Gain team have been such good friends to Blogalicious (can someone say Doug E. Fresh?) and we are so excited for his brand new role as Senior Marketing Director for Taco Bell. They are lucky to have him! Hamilton Brown is a passionate business leader and an award winning brand builder who has a decade of experience in creating avid fans of experiential brands. He has led large, global and small businesses; consumer inspired product and commercial initiatives, and managed large multifunctional/multi-agency and global teams that have led to sales, volume, and profit growth. Throughout his career, Hamilton has demonstrated an entrepreneurial and independent thinking mindset that has enabled him to build expertise in business transformations/turnarounds and establishing base and premium business segments.
Hamilton is a Senior Marketing Director at the Taco Bell Company, a YUM! Brands subsidiary. He is responsible for leading the Beverage, Desserts, and Big Meal business platforms, as well as the development of new concepts and platforms for the company.
Hamilton spent almost 10 years at the Procter and Gamble Company where he was the Senior Brand Manager of the North America Gain Fabric and Home Care Megabrand with sales of over $1.5 billion dollars spanning 6 different product categories. Through his leadership, winning spirit and positive attitude, Hamilton led the complete turnaround of the Gain business by delivering product and commercial initiatives to the market. He also developed with the Lapiz Agency, a multicultural and Hispanic focused advertising agency, a Hispanic print campaign that received the Bronze Lion for print at Cannes in 2013.
Prior to his Gain assignment, Hamilton was the Global Brand Manager of Old Spice, the #1 male personal care brand. He was also the co-creator of the award winning “The Man Your Man Can Smell Like” featuring Isaiah Mustafa which has won 5 Cannes Lions.
Prior to his career at Procter and Gamble, Mr. Brown was an architectural engineer for 4 years with the SmithGroup, the nation’s oldest full service architectural and engineering design firm. His design experience was in the following sectors: Healthcare, Sports & Entertainment, Education and Government.
Hamilton has an Architectural Engineering degree from Tennessee State University and a MBA from the Krannert School of Management at Purdue University.
Hamilton is married to Carol, a nurse manager at University of Cincinnati Medical Center, and they have 3 young sons – Pierce (age 9) and identical twins, Preston and Parker (age 6).
Outside of work, Hamilton enjoys cooking and visiting restaurants, traveling, playing golf and volunteering in education focused activities and youth sports. He is also an avid football fan.
